What does that jar actually cost per dose?

Brands quote creatine per gummy because it is the flattering number. Type in three figures from the supplement facts panel and get the number that is actually comparable.

Your true cost per dose
You must chew per day · the jar lasts

Presets: Create is 45 gummies at 1.5 g; SWOLY is 150 gummies at 0.8 g; powder assumes a 500 g tub. Prices change constantly — always re-enter today's figure from the retailer.

How the maths works

There are only two operations, and doing them in your head at the shelf is a genuinely useful skill:

  1. Total creatine in the jar = gummies per jar × grams per gummy. This is the only quantity you are actually buying.
  2. Real doses in the jar = total creatine ÷ 5. Divide the price by that and you have a number you can compare against anything, including powder.

Worked example. A jar at $34.99 with 60 gummies at 1 g each contains 60 g of creatine — twelve real 5 g doses. That is $2.92 per dose, and the jar runs out in twelve days, not the "30 servings" on the front. Roughly ten times the cost of powder.

The second output matters as much as the first. If a product needs six or more gummies for a full dose, look honestly at whether you will chew six every morning in week eight. Most people do not, which converts a fairly-priced product into an expensive placebo.

Where gummies sit against everything else

Bar chart comparing typical cost per five gram creatine dose across powder, capsules and gummies Typical cost per 5 g dose Indicative US retail ranges. Always recompute with the calculator for the exact product you are looking at. Powder (bulk)~$0.15–0.30 Powder (brand)~$0.30–0.50 Capsules~$0.60–1.00 Gummies~$1.10–2.20 That gap is the convenience premium. It is only worth paying if it is the reason you take it every day.

Questions

How do I calculate the real cost of creatine gummies?

Multiply gummies per jar by grams of creatine per gummy to get total creatine in the jar. Divide that by 5 to get the number of real 5 g doses. Then divide the price by that number. The result is directly comparable to powder and across brands.

What is a reasonable cost per 5 g dose for a gummy?

Roughly $1.10–1.70 is normal for an honestly dosed gummy. Above $2 you are paying 6–10x powder. Below $1 is unusual and worth double-checking against the supplement facts panel, because it often means the label is quoting creatine per gummy rather than per serving.

Why does the number of gummies per dose matter so much?

Because adherence collapses as piece count rises. A 3-gummy dose is a habit; an 8-gummy dose is a chore, and people quietly cut it to four. At that point the product is not underdosed — your intake is.
